Board of Directors

Jim Verghis – Founder / Executive Director

Beginnings
Jim Verghis, the founder of The Center for Family Healing, was born in Alaska, a unique origin that has profoundly influenced his perspective on life and healing. His astrological chart, shaped by his northern birthplace, and his breech birth contribute to his distinctive ability to view life from varied angles. As a writer with ADHD and OCD tendencies, Jim channels his creative and meticulous nature into his pioneering work.

In 1978, a life-changing accident compelled Jim to seek pain relief beyond conventional medicine. With no solutions from doctors other than opiates, he turned to natural healing and alternative methods, striving for deep, soul-level healing. Over two decades, guided by five powerful mentors, Jim engaged in fasting, cleansing, and daily meditation, using himself as a test subject. These experiences, couple with his innate insights, laid the groundwork for his expertise.

Behavioral Iridology
In 2002, Jim founded Behavioral Iridology, an organization dedicated to helping individuals understand their health and life experiences through the lens of their family and health history, as well as patterns in their irises. This approach reveals the lessons and experiences the soul has chosen through ancestral lineage, parents, and siblings.

Core Principle / Quantum Leap Forward
Jim’s work is based on the principle that our physiology is directly related to our psychology. The human psyche is a spherical, complex system of energetics, long-term ancestral behavioral patterns, and the soul’s blueprint. The Center for Family Healing integrates these elements, providing insights and solutions for health and healing across generations. Our grounded, practical approach aligns with natural laws, bridging the gap between physical, emotional, and mental bodies with ancestral lineage and the soul’s journey.

The mind-body connection advances significantly when combining iris patterns, birth order, and family history in healing protocols. By understanding inherited family traits, individuals can discover their gifts and life lessons, creating viable plans for personal and family healing. Engaging consciously in life’s lessons enhances healing on physical, emotional, and mental levels.

In January 2020, a pivotal moment occurred when Jim atended a meeting of the West Valley Genealogical Society. Inspired by the speaker’s desire to understand ancestors’ personalities, Jim realized the importance of his decades of research into trans-generational behavioral patterns, personality, illness, and disease. This revelation solidified his commitment to integrating his findings into comprehensive healing practices.

Our Vision
Today, The Center for Family Healing represents the culmination of over 37 years and 5,000 hours of practice and research. We serve as a valuable resource for natural and holistic healers, providing tools to read family history and irises to identify personality types and life lessons. This knowledge supports individuals and organizations in understanding and addressing illness and disease patterns, contributing to overall well-being.

Jim Verghis is recognized as a leading authority in identifying trans-generational behavioral patterns and structural iris patterns, defining health, personality, and relationships. Since 2006, he has been certifying practitioners and teachers, sharing his profound insights with the world.

Join Jim Verghis and The Center for Family Healing to discover the deep connection between your ancestral lineage, personal health, and soul’s journey, paving the way for transformative healing for you and your family!

Paul Isensee, Director of Marketing for The Center of Family Healing, was born into an entrepreneurial family from Chicago in the late fifties. After graduating from Lake Forest College in 1980, he worked for Lord and Taylor in their  management program. He was soon promoted to an executive position in Phoenix, Arizona, with Goldwater’s Department Store, which was associated with Lord and Taylor in New York. A couple of years later, when Goldwater’s was sold, Paul moved to the Biltmore Fashion Park and became General  Manager for Bruno Magli, a  luxury men’s and women’s boutique from Bologna Italy,  and served as President of the Board of Directors, the marketing arm of the Biltmore Fashion Park.

Paul opened his first business a couple of years later, and was owner/partner in 6 upscale businesses over the next 15 years, including catering, interior design, and Fine arts.

Paul moved to Las Vegas in 1997 and became a partner in a fledging Real Estate Company in Green Valley, which grew quickly into one the largest privately owned Real Estate companies in Las Vegas. In 2008, when the Real Estate Market crashed, Paul realized he wanted to help the Las Vegas Community deal with the downturn in the economy where over 50 percent of the homeowners were underwater or in foreclosure.

Fortuitously, a friend called Paul six months after the crash to tell him she had become a Reiki Master, and to know if he wanted to be a part of a  Wellness Center she was starting. Knowing nothing about health and wellness, but with an entrepreneurial spirit, Paul agreed to come aboard, and Ganesha Center was born. They started small, with one room in a Corporate Center, and within 2 years grew incrementally to 6,000 sq. ft. in a stand-alone building with a full-service cafe, a retail shop, and an entertainment venue. They attracted holistic practitioners, holistic doctors, and speakers from all over the world, and well over 80,000 clients in over the next 6 years.

In 2016, Ganesha Center closed, and Paul moved back to Phoenix, where his family was now living. In the ensuing years, Paul has gotten involved in quite a few conscious businesses, including a raw vegan Cafe in Gilbert, that evolved into a mini-Ganesha Center which included treatment rooms, infrared sauna, and a variety of holistic practitioners, nutritionists, and a doctor of epigenetics, along with a group of nutritionists and bio-feedback technology. At the same time, he was working with Soul Center in Mesa, a Wellness Center with a group of in-house Holistic Naturopaths.

Paul became interested in Permaculture farming at this time and started another company that specialized in creating permaculture soil, called Off the Walls Botanicals. He hired a graduate from MCC in permaculture farming and was soon commissioned by the Doctors at Soul Center to create a permaculture food forest at the rear of the property. To bring healthy gardening into the home, they sold individual bags of this permaculture soil to clients at the Vegan Restaurant and Soul Center.

In his spare time now, Paul works with several top vendors at the Phoenix Farmers Markets and has consulted with healthy food vendors who want to share their products with a more health-conscious audience.

Now, with his position with The Center for Family Healing, Paul will use his talents of combining all the elements of the mind, body, and spirit to bring about optimal holistic health to the Phoenix Community and beyond.

Sean is a successful Electrical Engineer and our resident techie.

Sean traces back several instances in his life where he could feel that “something was off”. As a young teenager, what would now be described as a panic attack was an early indicator. A failed marriage and subsequent failed relationships, job difficulties, and chronic inflammation led him down the road of doctors who could potentially treat symptoms – looking at you Wellbutrin XL, Nexium, Protonix, benzodiazepines – but with no real solutions.

In 2006, in a fit of desperation and isolation, Sean attempted to end his own life, thus mangling the structure of his body and leaving him in even greater debilitating pain. Several painful subsequent years and thousands of dollars sunk are testament to his resilience and desire to heal.

Unsatisfied with the status quo and determined to take charge of his own well-being, in 2008, Sean began doing his research into enzyme nutrition and the importance of a clean diet. He found some digestive relief, but the turmoil in his relationships and directed anger towards his family continued to frustrate him. Although he has been able to harness his talents as a successful Electrical Engineer, he still felt “something was off.”

In 2020, after being hospitalized with acute diverticulitis, Sean continued to seek out alternative methods of healing, including colon hydrotherapy and cleanses. A year later, he embarked on an 11-day water fast in January while still going into the office, wearing three layers and a hat for warmth.

Upon sharing his fasting experience a year later with Paul Isensee, whom he had known for a couple of years through the Farmer’s Market, Sean met and collaborated with Jim Verghis, embarking on a remarkable journey of self-exploration. Jim helped Sean understand that he was not beset upon maladies, but attracting them.

Implementing Jim’s principles and philosophies have given Sean a new lease on life. Continued external (worldly) success is celebrated with a deepening connection with his family and a loving partner. On a journey of self-empowerment and building of inner-strength and self-confidence, Sean has found a renewed passion for life and a desire for giving back.

Sean is an avid snowboarder,  martial artist and a five-year site-based Big Brother at the North Tempe Boys and Girls Club. He draws parallels in his interactions with others to his own life, determined to be a grounded presence and a living example of what is possible. He is a board member of the University of Arizona Engineering Council and is involved in youth mentorship with the Youth Impact Mentoring organization.
